Training “Social entrepreneurship as model for marginalized groups’ employment”

On May 29 and 30, 2019 in the village of Bogetići, the municipality of Niksic (Montenegro), training of trainers on the subject "Social entrepreneurship as a model of employment of marginalized groups" was conducted. The training was conducted as part of the project "Innovative Support for Employment of Rural Marginalized Groups - SineRgi", financed by the Visegrad International Fund, implemented by a consortium of non-governmental rural networks and organizations from the countries of the Western Balkans and Visegrad countries.

The training was attended by 13 representatives of the networks for rural development of the countries of the Western Balkans (two from each country and three from Montenegro). The training was provided by two trainers Magdalen Curillova from Slovakia (Social Enterprise Hrhovské oblasti) and Petra Francova (P3 - People, Planet, Profit, Prague) from the Czech Republic.

During the training, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the history and key challenges of social entrepreneurship policies in the EU, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and how the Local Action Groups support social entrepreneurship in these countries. Also, participants presented concrete examples of social entrepreneurship based on rural development in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as examples of good practice for hiring marginalized groups. Presented were an electronic brochure entitled "Opportunities for the Development of Social Farming for Social Service Providers" in English as a systematized set of experiences of the Czech Republic in this field.

In addition to the presented knowledge and experience, the participants in the training divided into 3 groups worked on identifying a possible model of social entrepreneurship in their countries, identifying possible businesses for social entrepreneurship, and developing project ideas for social entrepreneurship and employment / support for marginalized groups. After the workshop, each group publicly presented its ideas and business plans for social entrepreneurship. They were commented by the participants, discussions on possible models of social entrepreneurship development, and trainers gave their recommendations for improving business ideas.

The significance of the project is reflected in the fact that networking of stakeholders from the countries of the Western Balkans and Visegrad countries is supported. Also, the topics of social entrepreneurship and the employment of marginalized groups are very current and of great importance for the development of the Western Balkans, and their implementation ensures compliance with European standards and experiences.
