On February 22 and 23, 2019,  in Vrnjacka Banja was held Assembly of the Network for Rural Development of Serbia .

The Assembly was held within the framework of the project "ALTER - Active Local Territories for Economic Development of Rural Areas" funded by the European Union, as part of the activities "Establishing new rural development networks and supporting existing networks".

The project is implemented at the national level by the Network for rural development of Serbia.

The Forum for Rural Development of the countries of South-East Europe was held from 16th to 18th October 2018 in Jahorina.

On the first day of the forum, an experience was presented in support of the rural economy of the Permanent Working Group for Regional Rural Development of South East Europe, as well as the experience of the company Tehnopolis Niksic from Montenegro in support of the development of rural economy. The theme of one of the introductory presentations was the green economy as an opportunity for diversification of economic activities in rural areas.

The first Balkan rural parliament entitled "European Perspectives of Rural Communities in the Western Balkans and Turkey" was held from 26 to 28 June 2018 in Vrnjacka Banja.

On December 14, 2017, a national consultative meeting on the topic “Improving the position of women in rural areas” was held in Belgrade.

The meeting was attended by representatives of women's associations (Fenomena, Rakija iz rakije, Majka Angelina…), UN Women, representatives of organizations involved in rural development, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Ministry of Demography and Population Policy.

On December 13, 2017, a national consultative meeting on the topic “Youth in Rural Areas” was held in Belgrade. The meeting was attended by representatives of umbrella youth organizations at national level (Serbia for youth, National association of youth offices, OSCE ...), representatives of youth organizations from rural areas, SKGO, as well as representatives of the Ministry of agriculture, forestry and water management.

In the period from 8 to 10 December 2017, in Ovčar Banja was held training on topic “Project Cycle Management”.

The training was organized within the framework of the project "ALTER - Active Local Territories for Economic Development of Rural Areas" funded by the European Union, as part of the activities "Organizing activities to build the capacity of national rural development networks in line with the country's needs and support existing rural development networks". The project is implemented at the national level by the Network for rural development of Serbia.

On December 7, 2017, a workshop on the topic “LEADER approach as an instrument of rural development at the local level” was held in Ljig. The workshop was attended by representatives of the public, civil and business sectors.

On December 1st, 2017 in Užice a workshop on the topic “Promotion and support of LEADER approach, Community Led Local Development, sustainable rural development and the role of CSOs” was held. The workshop was attended by representatives of the public, civil and business sectors.
