Network for Rural Development of Serbia as member of the PREPARE network participating in the European project GRANULAR

The three main difficulties encountered by scientists and policy-makers to grasp the diversity of situations are the lack of consensus in conceptualising and defining “rural”, the lack of relevant data at the appropriate granulometry, and the lack of practical tools to help align territorial diagnosis with place-based policies. The European project GRANULAR – which stands for “Giving Rural Actors Novel Data and Re-Usable Tools to Lead Public Action in Rural Areas” – will contribute to bridge this gap.

The participants of the 5th European Rural Parliament adopted the Manifesto

Up to 350 ERP-partners and friends came together in Kielce 12-15.9.2022 on 5th European Rural Parliament to express their views and voices on rural future. The participants had a good time meeting and discussing with people all around Europe.

Also three representatives of the Network for Rural Development of Serbia participated on the ERP and they have opportunity to share informations about Agromix project and project activities.

National Forum "Roadmap to a Green Economy in the Western Balkans"

On Monday, October 4, 2021, the National Forum "Roadmap to a Green Economy in the Western Balkans" was held in Kraljevo.

The National Forum was organized within the project "Networking and Advocacy for Green Economy" (NAGE), which is financed by the EU, and in which the Network for Rural Development of Serbia is one of the partners.

The forum was attended by about 40 participants (most were physically present and a number of participants attended via the zoom platform).

A press conference of the project "Reducing the impact of local communities in the cross-border region of Serbia and Montenegro on climate challenges - WE CAN" was held in Pljevlja on June 7, 2021.

The project partners held a press conference, during which they presented the achievements of the project and their importance for reducing climate change and the use of renewable energy sources.

Final conference of the project "WE CAN" in Vrnjacka Banja and Kraljevo

Within the project "Reducing the impact of local communities in the cross-border region of Serbia and Montenegro on climate challenges - WE CAN", a closing conference of the project was realized.

During the two-day closing conference held on June 3rd and 4th, 2021 in Kraljevo, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the results of the project.

On that occasion, the representatives of the municipality of Pljevlja had the opportunity to meet with the representatives of the city of Kraljevo, led by the mayor.

Organic agriculture, experience of Poland

Mariusz Maciejczak, professor from department of Economics and Organisation of Enterprises from Institute of Economics and Finance SGGW and also expert of Polish Centre for Accreditation, gives insight to European Union food quality standards and its impact on the development of the agri-food sector in Poland, that include three main elements: food security, food safety and food quality.

Vertical farms, where crops are grown all year round

Precision farming and robotics systems will enable farms to become more profitable, efficient and environmentally friendly. This function is already performed by vertical farms, where crops are grown all year round, using much less water and energy than traditional agriculture. Vertigo Farms, the plants are not only cultivated in a completely ecological way, but also thanks to supercritical extraction with carbon dioxide they obtain maximum nutritional value.
